system supports full course management and administration. Data is
collected at the proposal, planning, applications, and approval or
nomination stages. Course Planning and Scheduling, Course
Advertising, Enrolments and Attendance are all supported. If
required, qualifications and competencies resulting from successful
participation in the Course can be held, together with Provider and
Trainer Details.
Supports Training and Business Plans
Course Aims and Objectives, Programme and Agenda, together
with Course materials can be recorded, reducing duplicated effort
often experienced in training delivery. It provides a means of fully
incorporating training and development into overall business
planning, as well as for organising and delivering all forms of
training and development from traditional Courses to Open Learning.
And, of course, date clashes checking for trainers, events and
delegates is standard, to help with the practicalities of planning
and scheduling.

Budgets, Costs and Revenues
SDMS V Staff Development for Windows also meets the needs of
all types of organisations to plan and manage Training and
Development activity for all grades and types of Staff, whether full
time or part time. It allows both Courses and Consultancy based
training to be fully managed, as well as in-house and externally
purchased training. It includes extensive facilities for recording
all training costs – with user definable cost categories, years,
budget periods and budgets - allowing a wide range of costs analyses
and training reports to be provided. All sources of Staff
Development funding and costs are reported on within a system for
monitoring any associated income. The ability to track training
spending to Course, Employee, Trainer, Provider, Cost Centre,
Subject and Department is in-built.
Employee Training History
Training Histories and Records are maintained for all Employees and
automatically updated as they apply for and attend training events.
Non-attendance, cancellations, whether referred to a waiting list or
not, can all be recorded. Comprehensive Personnel Details are held
for all Employees, including Names, Addresses, Gender, and Ethnicity
and Post Details to support Course Administration and
Communications, as well as Equal Opportunities Monitoring. A full
Employee Profile of Competencies, Qualifications, Skills and
Experience History can be held. Post and Job requirements can be
defined, allowing skills mapping between jobs and employee
competence.
Powerful Reporting is Standard
Extensiveness and flexibility of reporting is included in SDMS V Staff Development for Windows as standard. Data can be analysed to yield comprehensive performance reports to assist organisations in evaluating the Staff Development provided to employees, the take up and costs of such training, as well as producing information required for management decision taking. Over 300 standard reports are provided, including Training Profiles by Employee or Department, Costs of Training by Training Area and Providers, and Budgetary Analysis. All standard reports can be customised with easy to use report customisation screens. Audit Trail Module - Industry Standard
The Audit Trail Module provides the ability to track all changes to the data entered in SDMS Software - when the change was made and by whom, thereby providing compliance with industry standards for data management with full traceability, accountability and security. The extensive standard report included with HRPersonnel is extended with SDMS V Report Writer: Crystal Reports™ for additional ad hoc report writing on data held in SDMS. With Crystal Reports™ users can Access the Data, Design, Write and Distribute their own reports, in their style when they want in a format they need. Users of this module can produce a range of ad-hoc, impressively designed reports including: Conditional and Sub Reports, Columnar, Form Style, Multiple Section and Drill Down features. Simple Lists, Letters, Pre-printed Forms or Labels can also be produced.
WorkGroup Editions for Smaller Business
The Workgroup Edition is specifically offered for smaller enterprises where the number of concurrent users is not expected to exceed five. It can be installed without the use of a dedicated server. It is offered for a range of Employee Numbers from less than 50 to 500 in 100 Employee Bands of Employees. Where there is a need for more than 5 concurrent users we recommend the Full Client Server product.
